About the Instructor: David Fogg
David Fogg brings a dynamic blend of technical expertise, business leadership, legal knowledge, and real estate experience to his professional teaching and career. As a licensed attorney in both Idaho and Washington, he combines years of technical and legal training with practical real estate insights.
His professional journey spans impressive technical and executive roles, including work as a technical designer at General Dynamics and IBM, where he ultimately served as Director of Engineering and Manufacturing. In a transition from the tech industry to the legal profession, David received his Idaho Real Estate Salesperson and Brokers license(s) and helped clients buy and sell property while attending the University of Idaho, completing his Juris Doctorate in 2006.
In the real estate domain, David is particularly skilled in complex asset ownership, commercial contracts, and legal strategies. His law firm, ELC Legal Services, specializes in business formation, estate planning, and real estate law. This deep legal background enriches his approach to teaching real estate professionals.
As an instructor, David teaches highly regarded courses in project management, negotiation techniques, contract applications, and behavioral management. His teaching style is known for being participatory, energetic, and insightful, drawing from his extensive professional experience across technology, manufacturing, and real estate sectors.
When not teaching or practicing law, David remains an adventurer at heart—an avid runner, ski enthusiast, and SCUBA diver with over 400 logged dives since 2000.

With nearly 20 years of legal expertise, Nathan Starnes brings exceptional insight and practical knowledge to the real estate education field. As a successful trial attorney known for his meticulous attention to detail and pragmatic approach, Nathan transforms complex legal concepts into accessible, valuable information for real estate professionals.
Nathan's extensive experience representing clients in both State and Federal Courts—including the Idaho Federal District Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals—provides our students with a rare perspective on real estate law. His background in land use, zoning, boundary disputes, and contract litigation directly informs his teaching methodology, ensuring students receive education grounded in real-world applications.
As an instructor, Nathan combines his legal expertise with his natural charisma and dedication to deliver engaging, strategic education that prepares students for the practical challenges of the real estate industry. His ability to navigate complex issues with clarity makes him an invaluable asset to our educational team.
When not teaching, Nathan continues his legal practice assisting businesses and individuals with various contracts and agreements, including those pertinent to real estate transactions.
